Upcoming Winter Season - 2022 - 23

In recent months supply has been challenging and we have seen huge price increases across all ranges, particularly on imported firewood products. We expect our Kiln Dried Logs to be 30 - 50% more expensive than last season.

We are really pleased to tell you that we have managed to secure a good amount of UK Kiln Dried, Ash firewood which will be available only in bulk bags (at a much cheaper price than the imported alternatives).

It has been widely acknowledged by the fuel industry that we are likely to see shortages on wood products this year. Construction grade timber, biomass, and lumber (paper), have all previously been heavily exported out of Russia.

Obviously, with the Russian war on Ukraine, these exports have stopped and alternate routes have been found to replace this supply. There is now a large demand in the Baltic states for these products, which is where a huge amount of firewood sold in the UK is sourced from.

On top of the firewood situation, smokeless fuel costs have increased by 50% since March and a further £100/ tonne increase from July.

Our prices listed online are the cheapest that they are going to be this season, and throughout the season we will keep our prices as low as we can afford to.

With the sharp increase in petrol and diesel prices, and general cost increases of running the business, we will now be charging a flat £15 delivery fee. This allows us to keep our product prices as low as we can, and you can order as much as you like to spread the cost of the delivery fee, for example, whether you order 1 bulk bag or 3 bulk bags, the delivery fee will remain the same. We are no longer offering a delivery service outside of our local area through our website.

You are also welcome to collect as much or as little as you like from our site in Milnsbridge or Honley. The team at both sites are very friendly and accommodating and will even help to load up the car for you.

We will continue to monitor the situation, and do our best to keep pricing reasonable. Please keep in mind, the earlier you secure your winter fuel, the less that it will cost. We would advise all customers to order their winter fuel as soon as possible.
