Description
Our 1.5m³ crate of kiln dried Oak is the best value hardwood option for customers who want long, steady heat from their log burner or stove. Oak is extremely dense, so each log burns slowly and holds heat for longer than softer woods. If you want to light the fire and not keep topping it up, Oak is the ideal choice.
All Oak logs are kiln dried to a moisture content below 20%, meaning an efficient burn, less smoke and soot, and cleaner stove glass.
Oak burns slowly and produces a deep, consistent heat. Unlike Birch, which burns quickly and gives instant flame, Oak is a slow-release heat source — once it’s burning, it does the work for you. Many customers use Birch to get the fire started, then add Oak to maintain the heat.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Is a crate actually better value than a builders bag?
Yes — a crate gives you more firewood for your money.
Crates are neatly stacked, which means the full 1.5m³ is usable log volume. Builders bags are loosely filled, so there’s more air space between the logs.
A 1.5m³ crate contains roughly 3 builders bags worth of logs, but because it’s stacked, you are paying for actual wood, not empty space.
If you burn regularly, the crate is the best value option.
How much space will it take up?
The crate footprint is:
1.22m (L) x 1.06m (W) x 1.16m (H)
Most customers place the crate on a driveway, in a garage, or next to their log store. You don’t need to stack it immediately — it can stay in the crate until you’re ready to move the logs. It is important to store your logs in a dry area.
Will this definitely be kiln dried?
Yes — every load of firewood we sell is genuinely kiln dried.
We are Woodsure Approved and all of our wood is Ready to Burn certified. This certification means that moisture content, wood species, and quality are independently checked and approved.
You are receiving premium, fully compliant firewood — not seasoned logs labelled as kiln dried.
What moisture content is it?
All of our kiln dried logs are guaranteed to be below 20% moisture, and often measures below 15%.
Lower moisture = hotter burn + less soot + cleaner stove glass.
How does delivery actually work — do I have to move the crate myself?
No — we do that for you (access permitting)
We use our own delivery vehicles fitted with crane-off unloading. This allows us to place the crate exactly where you want it: on a driveway, beside your log store, or close to your garage. There's no heavy lifting, and you don’t need to move the crate yourself.
Unlike pallet network deliveries, we don’t leave it at the kerbside.
There are some considerations here, we will need to be able to get the van close enough to where you want your logs leaving. We don't unpack your logs for you, they are left in the crate for you to use as you wish.
Do you notify me on the day of delivery?
Yes — when you place your order online, we will email you with your delivery day.
If the date isn't convenient, simply call 01484 653 768 and we’ll rearrange it.
We don’t offer fixed time slots, but if you call us on the morning of your delivery, we can give you an estimated time window based on the driver’s route.
